Does the Apache Trail drive to Canyon Lake hurt a trailer?
The paved section to Canyon Lake is fine, but it is relentlessly winding, and continuous cornering works a trailer laterally in a way straight highway miles do not. Hardware backing off and bunk carpet wearing unevenly both show up more often on Canyon regulars.
Why does my boat feel like it takes more of a beating at Canyon?
The walls. Wind funnels down the canyon and wake has nowhere to dissipate in the narrow arms, so the water is rarely flat. That is more hours standing on a moving deck, which is more wear on the carpet than the same hours on calm water.
